INITIALIZING $NANAMI SYSTEMS...
Nanami Madobe is the official Japanese mascot for Windows 7, created by Microsoft Japan in 2009. Her name blends nana (“seven”) and Madobe (“by the window”), perfectly tying her identity to the OS. Designed by illustrator Wakaba and voiced by famous seiyū Nana Mizuki, Nanami features short blue hair, Windows-themed eyes, and a school-style outfit with a “7” motif. She appeared in limited-edition Windows 7 bundles, wallpapers, and voice packs, becoming the first OS-tan fully endorsed by Microsoft. Friendly, cheerful, and a bit clumsy, Nanami helped turn a software launch into a pop-culture moment and inspired later Madobe mascots for Windows 8, 10, and beyond.
